Learning Opportunities
Learning Opportunities
The SaddleBrooke Ranch Technology Club offers opportunities to learn about the technology we use in today’s world and about emerging technologies that we might be using tomorrow. Our classes are staffed by volunteers with expertise in computers, software and related technical areas that affect our daily lives. Our educational opportunities are presented in several different ways: classes, workshops, forums and open labs to name a few.

Unlimited Courses in our Fully Equipped Classroom
Unlimited Courses in our Fully Equipped Classroom
Our primary venue for classes is in our classroom, equipped with PCs and Mac computers. Our class calendar has a growing list of courses. For a complete listing, see the "Course Catalogue" or "SBRTC Calendar" on the menu of this Website.

To enhance your classroom experience, we limit the number of people that can attend each class. Certain very popular classes fill quickly, so check often to make sure you get the classes you want.

SaddleBrooke Ranch Technology Forums
SaddleBrooke Ranch Technology Forums
Our forums are aimed at a larger audience where invited speakers talk about interesting and important aspects of technology. These meetings are open to all SaddleBrooke Ranch residents – club members and non-members alike – and will take place in the Ranch House Ballroom. Consult the calendar for dates and topics.

Sharing Opportunities
Sharing Opportunities
Our Technology Room is also a meeting place for members to share skills with other members on a one-on-one basis. Our membership includes many people who have identified themselves as mentors for particular aspects of technology who are willing to spend time with members learning new skills.

Special Interest Groups (SIGS)
Special Interest Groups (SIGS)
Our Technology Room is also a place for small groups of members sharing similar interests such as using a common software package or an interest in building microcomputers as a hobby. At SIG meetings members share what they know and build their knowledge by participating with the group. Check out the calendar for SIG meetings you might be interested in or contact our Event Coordinator to create a new SIG. Any member can create a SIG if there is interest in the topic.

Teaching Opportunities
Teaching Opportunities
Do you have an area of expertise or in-depth knowledge that you would be willing to share with the SBRTC members? We are looking for experienced teachers to fill out our curriculum, as well as members who would like to discover their inner teacher with a little bit of help.

Or if teaching is not your calling, you may be able to help someone in the capacity of a mentor. A mentor is what we call someone who can offer help to another member either one-on-one or by assisting the teacher in a classroom setting.

Please contact our Education Coordinator to talk about your interest. You can also indicate your interest by going your name in the upper right corner of the screen, then selecting “Profile.” Under profile, choose “Additional Member Data.”
